I have a love for lichens, mosses, and liverworts. I came across this lichen covered tree on a recent hike to Snow-slide lake in the Salmon River mountains. A maple shrub, a week into its yellow fall colors, was behind the tree, and I thought it all made for a wonderful yellow display! The trail to the lake is just over two miles, gaining over 1,800 feet in elevation. I continued on to the ridge top above the lake, and look forward to sharing some of those pictures soon.
