  1. Hi, beautiful site, beautiful photios. Forgive me for leaving this comment here, please do erase it… I saw on another blog that you’d recently given your vanagon some heart surgery (2450 cc gw wb +EMS, how’s that for acronyms…). I’m wondering how it turned out. Having same done to my ailing van and hoping for the best.

    1. Howdy Randall. No worries on leaving a message here about Cornelius our vanagon! The verdict is still out, only because I have not had a chance to get the van out on a proper road trip. I have a 17 day trip planned in April so that will be a great true test. I did take him on a local camping shakedown in the mountains here, I have was impressed. the 2450 definitely has more oomf in 1st, 2nd, 3rd. I had the van pretty loaded down, including a KTM 300 xc-w motobike on the back. I kept up pretty good with my buddy and his suby swap engine, he would pull away in 4th, but not as much as I expected. The EFI has been been a challenge with cold temps, and the higher elevation here in the central Idaho mountains, but GW is working on it, and some initial programing tweaks improved it. I knew I was signing up for an experimental unit, and though it is pricey, my original fuel injection was failing, and with all the investment in the van, and my trust in GW to do right by their products, even if it takes time, I went for it and I have no regrets.

Thanks for the compliment on my blog and images, I really appreciate that!
