Radical Earth

The views on the East side of Lick Creek never disappoint. Everywhere you look there is a gnarly rocky chute, a prominent chunk of vertical granite, or a U-shaped hanging valley with a waterfall finding its way to the valley floor. Lick creeks headwaters form at Lick Creek summit, and flows 3000 feet down into the wild Secesh river, which then flows into the mighty South Fork Salmon river.
Last night on a return from a backcountry excursion in the Yellow Pine area, I had the fortunate moment in time where the moon and the twilight sky mixed with the rugged Salmon River mountains for a spectacular vision of nature.
